Only 15 Cory's Shearwater!

Looking east from Giant's Castle this morning

I arrived at Giant's Castle early this morning to discover that the wind had dropped and was coming from the west. It was not until 09.15 when the first Cory's Shearwater lazily passed west, only to be followed immediately by three more. In two hours, I4 Cory's Shearwater passed through and like the Balearic Shearwater, they all flew by at close range.

Field Grasshopper at Giant's Castle

This Grey Heron was having a hard time from a Great Black-backed Gull over Giant's Castle

A quick look at Porth Hellick found a drake Tufted Duck had arrived and there was also a single Sand Martin with 25+Swallow.

A surprise at Porth Hellick was this drake Tufted Duck

A return to seawatching from 18.00, later joined by Martin and Robin and this time off Deep Point, produced single Cory's and Sooty Shearwater. There were also 6 Harbour Porpoise and 1 Common Dolphin and on land, 3 Rusty-dot Pearl and a single Lime-speck Pug were in the area
