Common Scoter off Porth Mellon

Imm/fem Common Scoter off Porth Mellon Beach

This morning Joe called me to say that he had an imm/fem Common Scoter in the harbour. Two minutes later I was watching it off Porth Mellon in the strong WNW wind. Just across the road at Little Porth there were 3 White and 7 Pied Wagtail and a visit this evening to Porth Hellick found the same ducks present as the last few days. In the bushes nearby there were 4+Chiffchaff and just before dark, I observed the male Firecrest going to roost. Up to 3 Water Rail were in the area and the drive home produced 2 Woodcock and a single Pipperstrelle Bat.
