OSPREY being mobbed by a Carrion Crow, Old Town Bay
And 3 birds were seen within 30 minutes! The fog and drizzle that we have had since throughout yesterday was starting to disappear by mid-afternoon and that's when I got a call from Graham telling me that he had the RED-RUMPED SWALLOW at Porth Hellick crossroads. Here it performed well with other hirundines.

We decided to go and have a look at Pete Hall's WOODCHAT SHRIKE that he found two days ago, 8th May, in fields on the Old Town side of Peninnis above Carn Lea. As we went under the trees at Old Church, by the steps, 2 Herring Gulls sounded like they were mobbing something and then I observed a Carrion Crow purposefully make it's way to where the gulls sounding like they were coming from. 'Follow that crow, it's going for something' Before I could finish my sentence Graham shouted 'OSPREY!' It came out low above the trees and into the bay, constantly being harassed by the crow. It flew out to sea SE, and seemed to return towards Giants Castle where we lost it. Happy with want we had just observed, we headed for the shrike and immediately found it perched on brambles near to the path. It moved further up the field and disappeared over a wall.
The OSPREY was always flying away from us until it flew out to sea still with the Carrion Crow giving it some jyp
The WOODCHAT SHRIKE always kept it's distance at Carn Lea
This Turtle Dove was at the Garrison and was briefly on the tower, 8th
