A great find by Mark Halliday of this WILSON'S SNIPE at Lower Moors
This afternoon I was back in the ISBG hide and found 20 Snipe directly in front of the hide actively feeding! And it didn't take long to find Mark's Wilson's Snipe among them. I called everyone to let them know it was here and Nigel Hudson and Martin Goodey turned up. It performed really well showing off it's tail, upper and underwing and was easily picked out from the snipe by it's darker appearance with white tramlines. This was clearly a different individual and the easiest to identify as it shows all the right features out of all three Wilson's Snipe that of turned up this autumn.
Martin Goodey took this pic showing 16 tail feathers Go to Martins website http://mpgoodeyphotography.com/apps/photos/
Like James Lidster said 'They don't get better than this!!'
And here's a Snipe for comparison showing it's underwing
Can you see which one it is?
