2nd winter Thayer's 'type' Gull. Maybe a tad big? But what the hell do I know!
Had this interesting gull at Trench Pool this morning that I thought showed some good features of a possible 2nd winter Thayer's Gull. I ain't going to go in to great detail, because I want to get back to see if it might return like the Caspian Gull did three times yesterday. I emailed the pics around and it has come back by gull experts that it shows all the right ticks for a Thayer's Gull and the news went out as a probable? However, one expert, that I look up to, says it isn't one. No sign of this evening in the roost, but the 1st winter Caspian Gull came in. There not the best shots in the world, but you can make your own minds up to what you might think it is from the photos below.
Any comments welcome
