Possible EMRENBERG'S REDSTART? (samamisicus) at the Garrison this evening
Had a quick look down the lane to Christmas House just after 17.00 and found a male Redstart with 2 Black Redstart on the fence posts. I put me bins up and immediately noticed that it had pale panel showing featears of a possible EMRENBERG'S REDSTART (samamisicus). The bird was on privite land and therefore I could only alert local birders. I even knocked on Jenny's door, the owmer of the drive, but she was not in.
When I took these shots, there was thick fog and it was getting dark
I had half an hour off work and had a brief look around Sunnyside area. There was a very vocal Yellow-browed Warbler in the Ivy covered Elms, 150 Chaffinch in one of the weedy fields, Woodcock, and good numbers of Redwing, (50+ being the largest number) and Chaffinch overhead.

A few days ago I canoed to Samson....
...And all I saw of note were a female Merlin and Water Rail. Returning home I got very close to the 2 Spoonbill on Yellow Rock. Note me work, Star Castle in the background
